The Challenge

The South Okanagan is at capacity in the busy summer months. Known for its fun in the sun, local tourism partners needed a new destination positioning and channel approach to drive shoulder season business.


Our Answer

Travel Local developed a content-driven, multi-channel digital approach that built up the destination's reputation as a place to experience the real South Okanagan during the spring and fall. Over 2 years, focused editorial plans, content development, and calculated digital distribution saw the campaign exceed, but mostly shatter every performance target. Social media and digital advertising surpassed nearly every industry benchmark. Sponsored editorial generated 100K pageviews and worked effectively with paid digital to drive 16K warm leads directly to partner businesses. Public relations generated 30M impressions because media were hungry for an inspired new angle on an already well-covered destination (btw, our target was 6.5M).
